Updated: Nov 21, 2020
In today’s westernized world, we are commonly misinformed to believe that money is everything and that once you become wealthy, all your problems will disappear and as a result, be forever happy. But is this true? Does money really buy happiness? Or does it depend on other factors?
A study by Donnelly and colleagues reveals that the amount and source of millionaires’ wealth, (moderately) predicts their happiness. This study involved two samples of 4,000 millionaires in which two major results were obtained. First, wealthier millionaires are happier than less wealthy millionaires and second is that those who earned their wealth are happier than those who inherited their wealth.
